Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

£13k to £15k Basic Salary + London Weighting Allowance

Welcome to John Smith's. An entrepreneurial, dynamic and growing organisation, we are a leading academic retailer based on university campuses. Right now we need you to be part of the friendly team at our thriving student stores at Greenwich University in London.

The store itself is a small business, so you'll need to get to grips with all aspects of its operation - from back office admin to handling online orders and you will pro-actively support the Retail Manager in running the store on a daily basis which will include creating new displays and looking at innovative ways to merchandise stock, holding weekly staff meetings and driving performance through coaching, training and development of staff. You'll also be required to write weekly trading report own and report on stock management and undertake analysis of product margins to ensure profitability of the store.

There's real variety, plus the chance to build your skills in new areas. That's why a flexible approach is important, plus the willingness to take the initiative and go that extra mile to ensure the success of the store. You will also be creative, driven, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

As well as that, you'll bring supervisory experience gained in a busy retail environment, along with first-rate written and verbal communication, people management experience and a high level of IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The shop's trading hours are Monday to Friday from 7am - 5.30pm. Flexibility within these hours is essential.
